Suman joined the lab in July, 2018, and he is steeped in learning operant behaviors such as ICSS and IV drug self-administration in male and female rats. Suman will be using chemogenetics and behavioral pharmacology to probe the involvement of PVT to NAc shell circuits in the expression of oxycodone withdrawal-induced negative affective states and their impact on drug taking.
Suman's expertise in AI and computer coding means he is the leader of all things computational in the lab. His skills in this realm have enabled detailed and novel analyses of behavior using state-of-the-art programs such as Dr. Mathis' DeepLabCut.
